Albus Dumbledore, a great wizard whose favorite flavor of jam was raspberry, shared many nuggets of wisdom throughout the Harry Potter series. Here’s one of them:
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
I’m not going to go into the context of this quote, I just want to focus on the fact that just because something exists only in your head, doesn’t mean that it is not real. What’s happening in your head may not be real to others, but it’s real for you and you have to deal with it, whether it’s good or bad, healthy or unhealthy, practical or impractical. You have to figure it out. Sometimes you’re alone in this journey, sometimes you’ll have fellow travelers.
Mark Twin himself said: “Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts or happenings. It consist mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever flowing through one’s head.”
It’s interesting to think about the overall concept of reality and your own definition of reality based on what’s inside your head. So find a quiet space to think about all this and you may just come up with your own nugget of wisdom.
